Jamie's Boudoir Session // Rochester, NY

I’m so proud of Jamie and these images from her session. She was so excited and a little nervous (which is normal) but what I’m most proud about is she said a big “F*CK you” to losing weight and just booked her session anyways. She has been and always will be beautiful, and I’m so happy she has these images to remind her just that. No one needs an excuse for boudoir photos- every women is deserving of them. Relationship, no relationship- IT DOESN’T MATTER. Take a look at her experience and some of Jamie’s thoughts below.

1. What made you choose Megan Antalek Boudoir?
I’ve known Megan since high school and I always remember her being an amazing photographer. So  when she started doing these boudoir sessions I thought that would be amazing to be able to do that once I lost weight. But when she had her Black Friday sale I thought screw it, I’m just going to do it now because it was the ultimate screw you to my anxiety and my past eating disorder.

2. If you were nervous before your session, what were you most nervous about?
I wasn’t nervous at all until about an hour before the session. I think I was just scared about how the whole process would go down. Would I be able to do this with someone taking pictures??

3. What was your favorite part of the entire experience?
My favorite part about the experience was definitely how I felt during it. Megan truly makes you feel like you are the hottest queen alive. You feel so empowered during the session, like you can take on the whole world.

4. How do you feel now that youve completed your session?
I still have struggles with my body but I remember before getting the photos how scared I was. I thought what if the photos didn’t come out as good as I felt? But that feeling immediately dissipated once I had my viewing. I was in awe of the photos, there were some where I couldn’t believe it was actually me.

5. Was this session for you, or a present for a significant other?
This session was for me :)

6. If you had to give advice to women who are on the fence about doing a boudoir session, what would you say?
Without a doubt take that jump and do it. If you think about all the money you spend on useless things like a coffee at Starbucks or that shirt that you know you don’t need, and that meal that you get at the café every weekend — all those costs add up. Why not use that money instead to buy yourself, not only an amazing product, but an amazing feeling that lasts so much longer than that coffee or that meal or that cheap shirt from forever 21.

7. Do you think your self confidence has changed since your session?
Most definitely. I feel so much more empowered than I did before. I also feel like I have something I can look back on when I’m 70 and say “hell yeah I did that because I’m a bad a** b*tch and I STILL am” because that’s how long that feeling lasts
